Maria Franca Migone Calvi
Dear friends, Only now have I heard of the death of the Elsa Gempeler. I was particularly friendly with her because she was the "shadow" of Beatriz Salazar. We worked together for decades and I accompanied during the famous tour of Europe in 1989, concluded in London, where Beatriz met her terrible fate. Afterwards, with Maria Luisa and Elsa, we continued the work of Beatriz during my term as President of AMASC 1990-94 and saw Elsa several times for our regular meetings or during her travels in Switzerland, or even during the tenure of Maria del Carmen in Mexico. She was so skilled at embroidery and wood carving, I keep good memories. Her devotion to the Sacred Heart and AMASC have been a special example for whatever the association and its friendship was precious to all. I want to send you an expression of my condolences to the Association of Colombia and its family, if you are able to join them. To you all, even though I do not know you more personally, all my fondest thoughts. Maria Franca Migone Calvi
