"AMASC President's Message concerning aid to Southeast Asia"

2nd January, 2005
Dear Alumnae and Alumni of AMASC,

We are united in prayer for the victims of the horrific disaster in Southeast Asia. We contacted Srs.Clare Pratt, Superior General of the Society of the Sacred Heart, Kathleen Hughes, U. S. Provincial, Shirley Miller, AMASC Administrative Councilor, and Cecile Meijer, RSCJ NGO Representative, to seek guidance as to the best and most expedient way to proceed on behalf of AMASC.

Sr. Kathleen Hughes Emailed us the beautiful letter which the General Council sent to the Provincials and their Councils. With Sister's permission, I am passing this on to you, dear alumnae and alumni. Please read the letter with prayerful reflection and respond to it.

Sr. Clare Pratt sent me a message saying that we will be receiving more concrete information from her as soon as she hears from Sr. Digna Dacanay,Area Superior of Indonesia, as to the best way for us to proceed in sending monitary aid, which we know is direly needed! We will post this information on the AMASC Website, as soon as it comes to us. Sister is deeply appreciative for our worldwide alumnae/i's expression of solidarity.

We know that each of you is doing and will continue to do everything you can to ease the tremendous suffering that has ensued as a result of this devastating tragedy!

With gratitude and love in the Sacred Heart,
Olga
