" International Campaign to Ban Landmines - ICBL"

A recently published (2006) book is highly recommended to all.

A path is made by walking it” Ed. Patricia Pak Poy RSM (David Lovell Publishing in conjunction with ICBL Australian Network to Ban Landmines.)

The book is subtitled “Reflections on the Australian Network to Ban Landmines 1991 – 2006
It is a book but it is also much more than that, despite its small size – 159 pages!
It is a collection of essays, none of which is long, some are very short; yet in that modest format it presents a challenge to any and every person with an honest open mind. One essay alone should be enough to convince every normally intelligent reader of the absolute imperative to ensure that the Mine Ban Treaty (formal title “Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Antipersonnel Landmines and on their Destruction”) - binding international law since March 1 1999 – is universally honoured.

That essay is the NOBEL LECTURE delivered by the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 1997, Jody Williams (for ICBL), in Oslo December 10 1997.

I recommend you read this book - every page. It is great!
